Discover how IsWhere and its CEO, Terence Mak, are set to disrupt Thailand’s retail and tourism sectors with innovative location-based digital marketing solutions.
IsWhere a cutting-edge location-based digital marketing platform, has officially launched in Thailand. Through innovative technology, it aims to shake up the retail and tourism industries. This B2B-focused launch marks the beginning of a new era for brick-and-mortar businesses, with a consumer rollout planned for early 2025.
The platform empowers merchants—including retail shops, restaurants, and service providers—to attract and engage more customers, boost foot traffic, and maximize ROI. Designed for simplicity and accessibility, IsWhere allows businesses to register, create targeted promotions, and monitor campaign performance in real-time via its user-friendly website.
Terence Mak, CEO of IsWhere, shared his vision for the platform: “IsWhere was built to address the real pain points and needs of merchants. Our platform empowers businesses of all sizes to instantly launch digital promotional campaigns at minimal cost, allowing them to connect directly with both local and tourist customers in multiple supported languages.”
With a disruptive pricing model, merchants can register their stores for free, gaining visibility on the platform. For a flat monthly fee of 3,000 THB per store location, they can unlock unlimited access to IsWhere’s marketing features, including on-demand promotional campaigns. To incentivise early adoption, IsWhere is offering 100 million baht in free vouchers to the first 10,000 merchants who sign up via associations or government memberships.
This cost-effective approach ensures small businesses can compete with larger players, levelling the playing field while stimulating local economies. “With a simple subscription, merchants can create unlimited real-time promotions without worrying about hefty advertising budgets,” added Mak.
Thailand’s thriving retail sector, strong “promotion” culture, and status as a global tourist hotspot make it an ideal launch market for IsWhere. The platform’s ability to support hyper-localized marketing aligns perfectly with the needs of the Thai market, offering merchants the opportunity to connect with customers in a more targeted and impactful way.
Hotels and travel operators gain a significant advantage with IsWhere. Unlike other platforms, IsWhere does not charge a commission on vendor deals and allows unlimited offer creation. This flexibility lets vendors showcase a wide range of options, such as room stays, restaurant promotions, and more, empowering them to maximise the potential of their diverse offerings.
Mak elaborated: “Our goal is to energise the growing digital community, driving consumption and supporting local economies. With its robust retail and tourism sectors, Thailand is the perfect launchpad for our global vision.”
The launch event, held at Victor Club in Bangkok, featured a panel of industry leaders discussing the critical role of SMEs in driving economic growth and the importance of digital transformation for traditional businesses. Discussions emphasised how platforms like IsWhere can bridge the gap between local merchants and major brands, helping SMEs amplify their value in a dynamic market.
IsWhere’s launch represents more than a technological milestone – it signals a transformative opportunity for small businesses in Thailand. By equipping them with innovative tools to compete in an increasingly digital world, IsWhere is poised to redefine how merchants connect with customers, enhance their offerings, and thrive in an ever-evolving retail landscape.
