"The Great Detour Temple, formerly known as the New Temple at the mouth of the Great Detour, was later renamed the Rat Suksawinaram Temple, the mouth of the Great Detour, and was later renamed the Great Detour Temple, after the name of the parish that was located in the time of Sombharat, to the present day.

"วัดอ้อมใหญ่ เดิมชื่อวัดใหม่ปากคลองอ้อมใหญ่ ต่อมาเปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น วัดราษฎร์เจริญสุขสวัสดินาราม ปากคลองอ้อมใหญ่ และต่อมาได้เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น วัดอ้อมใหญ่ ตามชื่อของตำบลที่ตั้งอยู่ในสมัยสมภารฮวด เป็นเจ้าอาวาสมาจนถึงปัจจุบันนี้
“วัดอ้อมใหญ่” ตั้งอยู่บนฝั่งขวาหรือทิศตะวันออกของแม่น้ำท่าจีน ในเขตพื้นที่ของตำบลอ้อมใหญ่ อำเภอสามพราน จังหวัดนครปฐม ซึ่งเป็นเขตติดต่อกับตำบลอ้อมน้อยและตำบลท่าไม้ อำเภอกระทุ่มแบน จังหวัดสมุทรสาคร เป็นฝั่งคุ้งถูกกระแสน้ำเซาะ พังอยู่ตลอดเวลา เดิมพื้นที่ดินของวัดมีประมาณ ๕๒ ไร่เศษ แต่ถูกกระเเสน้ำเซาะพัง เหลืออยู่ตามโฉนดเลขที่ ๑๙๑๔๖ ที่รังวัดสุดท้ายปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๐๙ จำนวน ๓๗ ไร่ ๒ งาน ๔๐ ตารางวา ( เนื้อที่ดินหมดไป ๑๕ ไร่เศษ ) ปี พ.ศ. ๒๕๓๙ ทางวัดได้สร้างเขื่อนกันตลิ่งพัง
ใช้งบประมาณประชาชนร่วมบริจาคจำนวน ๑๒ ล้านบาทเศษ ซึ่งมีความยาว ๒๘๐ เมตร หรือ ๗ เส้น
