วัดทรงคนอง

วัดทรงคนอง จากคำบอกเล่าสืบต่อกันมาว่าบริเวณแถบนี้ได้มีพวกชาวเหนืออพยพ มาตั้งถิ่นฐานอยู่ในกลุ่ม พวกที่มามีเชื้อเจ้า อพยพมาด้วย จึงได้มีชื่อหมู่บ้านปรากฏอยู่ในขณะนี้ว่า “บ้านเหนือ” และ “บ้านศาลเจ้า” มีศาลเจ้าตั้งอยู่ในเขตตำบล เข้าใจว่า พวกชาวบ้านได้ตั้งขึ้นเพื่อใช้สำหรับทรงเจ้า ตามความเชื่อถือของคนในสมัยนั้น ส่วนชื่อ วัดสันนิษฐานว่าคงจะมาจากชื่อของหมู่บ้าน เพราะมีศาลเจ้าตั้งอยู่เป็นสำคัญ ในทุก ๆ ปีประชาชนจะมาประชุมกันและมีการทรงเจ้าในที่นั้น พอถึงเวลาเข้าทรงเจ้าจะคึกคนองประลองฤทธิ์ต่าง ๆ กันจนเป็นที่สนุกสนาน ประชาชนจึงเรียก ศาลเจ้าของหมู่บ้านว่า “บ้านทรงคะนอง” ต่อมาวัดซึ่งตั้งอยู่ในแถบนั้น จึงได้เรียกขานชื่อวัดว่า “วัดทรงคนอง” ตามชื่อ ของหมู่บ้านสืบมาจนทุกวันนี้
