"วัดศาลาตึก เดิมเป็นที่ดินส่วนบุคคลของพระครูสิทธิชัยวิศาล หรือหลวงพ่อลำเจียก อ่อนปาน(ติสฺสวโร) บริเวณนั้นเป็น แนวเขตรอยต่อ ที่ติดต่อด้วยกันถึง ๓ จังหวัด คือจังหวัดนครปฐม จังหวัดราชบุรี และจังหวัดกาญจนบุรี แนวเขตรอยต่อของ ๓ จังหวัดนี้ เป็นเส้นทางของบุคคลทั่วไป ที่จะต้องใช้เป็นทางผ่านไปนมัสการพระแท่นดงรัง โดยใช้เดินเท่า หรือ ทางเกวียน และใช้เป็น สถานที่พักแรม โดยสมัยก่อนมีการบอกเล่าว่า เป็นที่ชุมนุมของสัตว์ร้าย เช่น เสือดาว เสือลาย คอยจับมนุษย์เป็นอาหาร ที่บริเวณแถบนี้ ได้มีตึกเก่าอยู่หลังหนึ่ง และใช้เป็นที่หลบภัย (ในสมัยรัชกาลที่ ๕ เรียกว่า พลับพลาห้วยกระบอก)
กาลต่อมา ได้มีผู้รู้เขียนหนังสือขึ้นมา โดยอาศัยพระราชนิพนธ์ในรัชกาลที่ ๕ เรื่องเสด็จฯ ประพาสไทรโยคว่า พระองค์ ได้เสด็จฯ นมัสการพระแท่นดงรัง และเสด็จฯ ต่อไปยังน้ำตกไทรโยค ได้พักเที่ยงเสวยพระกระยาหารที่นี้ โดยเขียนว่า เป็นตรีมุขและ ที่พักที่เสวยอาหารในรัชกาลที่ ๕ ได้เขียนเป็นอักษรไว้ว่าสร้างในสมัยรัชกาลที่ ๔ ออกบวช เพื่อเป็นที่พักผ่อน เสด็จนมัสการพระแท่น โดยเจ้ากรมท่าในยุคนั้น
